Services from Melanie Rowland Osteopath
What is Osteopathy?
Osteopaths are “Body mechanics”, they detect and treat problems with joints, muscles, ligaments and nerves.
Visit to an Osteopath
When you visit an Osteopath, they will ask you detailed questions about your problem, and your general health. You will then be asked to remove clothing down to your underwear, and perform different movements. The Osteopath will place their hands around the problem area in order to detect the problem. Once the problem has been detected, the Osteopath will inform you about the course of treatment required, and will be able to advise on certain stretches that may help.
What is Ergonomics?
Ergonomics is a science concerned with the relationship between people and their work. Ergonomics in the workplace has to do largely with the safety of employees, both long and short-term. Ergonomics can help reduce costs by making improving safety - which would significantly decrease the money paid out in workers’ compensation by UK employers each year.
